This book is a system of mapping positions on the cello which are mathematically and logically sound. This is a new system for all cellists rooted in the great history of cello playing. The material is explained in the first part of the book and then, in the second part, there are actual musical examples marked with position markings. This book is meant to supplement the already great literature out there for the cello. The book is a catch all book that a beginner might use (with guidance by a teacher), as well as the intermediate and advanced cello player. The author has studied cello in line with the great lineage of Leonard Rose. He had the honor of studying with Scott Kluksdahl, who studied with Rose at Julliard. The goal of the system is that cellists will find practicing easier and more productive, so that their performance will improve. This system has seen effective results with the authors' students. The author has a student that has been playing only 5 months who is successfully completing Popper Etudes. Please email the author at Tallycello@gmail.com for any questions concerning this system.
