Miranda seems to have spent a lot of her adult life grieving, and now that she’s lost everything, including Tyler, she has very little optimism for her own future. Miranda hangs on to the one glimmer of hope that can make everything she has been through worthwhile, but she feels more alone than ever before and reaches out to the only hand extended to her, for comfort.
Local insurance claims adjustor Damian Sparks has had a crush on Miranda Lopez since childhood, and with Tyler finally out of the picture, things seem to be going well for Damian. Eager to get close to Miranda, he is willing to help her in any way he can as long as she doesn’t pry too closely into his business affairs. Damian didn’t become the biggest insurance racket in town by working only with nice guys.
Tyler Bradshaw is at his wits end. Half brooding over Miranda botching up a state-wide investigation of crime boss Geo Andrade and half brokenhearted over losing her, Tyler tries to put Miranda out of his mind and move on with his life, until he sees her getting chummy with the insurance agent in town. Tyler doesn’t know if Miranda has thrown caution to the wind or if she has something else up her sleeve, and decides to keep an eye on her just to be safe. But everything changes when a visitor from the past comes knocking to enlist Tyler’s help to make things right again.
