Lena Skye Q&A about "The Independent Women"
Q – Congratulations on the new series! What can readers expect from this?
A- They can expect a whole lot of drama, excitement and, of course, sex! There are multiple storylines at once but I think the readers will have no problem keeping up with it all. If you enjoy soaps then this should be your type of thing.
Q- This is definitely quite different. Just what inspired you to write a series like this?
A - There are not many series which feature 3 strong independent Black women so I wanted to fill that void. This is sort of like Sex and the city with an urban edge. I really want to stay away from cliches and negative stereotypes when it comes to race as the real world is nothing like that and readers these days know this!
Q – This is labeled as “Multicultural” romance rather then the usual BWWM romance, any reason behind that?
A- Well New York is a very diverse city when it comes to ethnicity and there will be romances with not just black women and white men but with other races also. I can not say more then that as I do not want to spoil anything but this is definitely something very different from the cliché romances you see on TV.
Q – I have read the first 2 episodes and now I already need the next episode in my life. How long do we have to wait in between each episode?
A- I personally dislike authors who do not publish a series regularly as I begin to lose track and also lose interest. So I want every episode to be released every 2 weeks. That is what I am aiming for, knock on wood that nothing goes wrong with that schedule though!
Q- OK Finally, I just have to ask.. Reggie! What on earth is the deal with Reggie??
A- Haha. Well I can not reveal too much as I do no want to spoil anything but you will be finding out a lot about Reggie in the up and coming episodes. And so will his wife.... But that is all for now, if you want to know more then you have to scroll up and start reading now!
