When Cat Wilke’s learns that the mysterious man who’s been stalking her is really a very gorgeous and compelling woman her interest is piqued. When Cat discovers that her 10 year old son, Jason knows the mysterious woman her senses go to high alert.
Jason and Cat are ‘special’ and over the years Cat has come to believe they are cursed with powers that others fear, envy and want to control. Their lives have been lived on the run and when Cat meets Maxie and is told of a secret society that not only embraces their special talents but encourages and teaches them to develop their skills, Cat is skeptical. When Maxie warns her of the unscrupulous people who would enslave her and Jason in order to use their powers, Cat realizes the danger. She finds herself drawn to Maxie and her desire to be held and loved by the strong, beautiful woman both confuses and excites her.
