The Letters contained within these pages were written David Parker in large to his wife Nancy in Yancey County, North Carolina. While David was struggling to survive the Civil War, Nancy was raising six children and trying to survive the ravages of war on the home front. A Life For Nancy -- Daughter of Frankie Silver, written by Danita Stoudemire and Riley Henry, is a historical fiction based partly on the content of David’s letters to his wife. Nancy was 13 months old in 1833 when her mother Frankie Silver, was hanged for killing her father. The murder of her father and execution of her mother followed Nancy through a life filled with tragedy and heartache. It wasn’t until she met and married David Parker in 1850 that she finally found some happiness, only to have it destroyed by the war 11 years later when David made the decision to volunteer for active duty. Survival then becomes Nancy’s top priority and she will do anything to make sure her children are fed as poverty hits the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Nancy’s life of mystery, romance, death and murder are portrayed in the pages of A Life For Nancy -- Daughter of Frankie Silver, available in major book outlets or visit us on Facebook.
