This is a transcription of an audio cassette my Grandmother, Dorothy Warren (Nanny) recorded in 1992. She recorded it for her niece who wanted information on her father, Dorothy’s brother Bernard Ira Palmer, the librarian. I've published it because, after initially getting it transcribed for family, I found that everyone who read it very much enjoyed it. It’s a lovely little snapshot of family life just before the Great War, as seen through the eyes of a little girl.
