David Grayson and Ariana Colbert are the protagonists in this story of passion and compassion. He is a well-known cardiothoracic surgeon, and for ten years she’s been by his side as his head surgical nurse. Both had abusive marital partners. They eventually reveal sides of themselves not experienced in the operating room that will reshape the rest of their lives.
The stress and long hours of surgery influenced them to look at other areas of medicine. They found a little-known cancer that was rare in the past, but increasing in large numbers. This led them to research, with a premise to determine whether a virus caused this cancer. Their findings interested some major pharmaceuticals. The roads they travelled in their crazy love for each other and their study were compelling.
