When Sophie, a Welsh Corgi, receives an invitation from her sister in London to attend a royal wedding, she and her friends embark upon an adventure in which they solve a mystery and rescue a priceless stolen cheese recipe, so the princess may marry the man she loves.
The story, inspired by a real dog, starts on a quiet San Francisco street, but takes its characters on a journey to England, and even to a small town in rural France. Sophie brings along her best friend, Boris, a grumpy, but smart spy-like dog, and Breeze, the neighborhood rat, who sneaks into Boris' suitcase.
Sophie is a book about friends, love, and self-confidence. Everyone may have doubts, but nothing is impossible when you have true friends and believe in yourself. The real Sophie lives in San Francisco, and actually has a neighbor friend, Boris. Sophie's gregarious personality inspired this story.
