Ezeulu is a stage recreation of Chinua Achebe’s Arrow of God. Utilizing the resources of the stage, Mr. Ogezi in this award‐winning play, retells the story of Ezeulu, the chief priest of Ulu, the great deity of Umuaro, beset with internecine strife within his own tribe and an unsympathetic British Colonial Administration and Christian missionaries. In his extremity, Ezeulu sees himself as an arrow in the bow of god Ulu to wreak vengeance against his people for allowing a few people in their midst to mislead them to challenge his authority. Unfortunately, he has reckoned without the ancient wisdom of his people that no man however great can ever win judgment against his clan.
