Charlie’s sister was thought to have been killed eight years ago. Unfortunately, due to Charlie’s hasty act of revenge on the vampires who’d done the deed, Kat’s body had never been recovered. Now, Kat is back in El Perdido, getting ready to raise a little hell and Charlie’s whole world is about to change again. Charlie knows that she should be grateful to have her beautiful, sassy sister home, but something isn’t right. The fact that Kat is undead isn’t much of a problem and leftover childhood jealousy while slightly painful, is manageable. Nope. The real problem is that Kat seems to be a little bit scary and nuttier than a pecan pie and she’s dragging Charlie straight down into crazy town with her. Charlie begins to feel forsaken by everyone she loves and she just can’t do anything right. Her vampire lover Dominic is keeping secrets and getting just a little too friendly with Kat. Charlie’s mom and dad aren’t talking to her and best buddy Jack has let That Woman sucker him into making a huge mistake. Charlie allows herself to get sucked down into an emotional abyss and ends up turning to the only person who seems to want anything to do with her, her former Master, Seth. He has offered to love, keep and protect her and all he wants is obedience, and perhaps her soul. Too bad Kat has already called dibs on it…
