After a long absence from his hometown, a successful executive returns to attend the funeral of a boyhood friend. While there, he gains insight into the events that caused him to run away as a child.
Murder at the Lake
While on vacation, a man witnesses the murder of a beautiful woman. He is unable to intervene, and as a result, previously unresolved feelings of guilt and inadequacy surface and compel him to become involved in the mysterious events that follow.
Perpetual Motion
Together, a black man and a white boy attempt to find an escape from abuse and persecution. A group of street people in Chicago help them in the quest.
Gold Fever
After a man loses his job, his wife, and hope for a decent future, he runs away. His fortunes are reversed when he meets a gold prospector, until they encounter two escaped convicts guilty of rape and murder.
