If you look up the word 'Deaf' in the dictionary, you'll see that it has two definitions: Partially or wholly deprived of the sense of hearing; and second, refusing to listen, heed, or be persuaded; unreasonable or unyielding. Unfortunately for Adrian Pope, he personifies both definitions of the word.
After his convoy is overturned in Afghanistan by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device), Adrian loses his hearing and suffers a severe case of shell-shock. We catch up with him two years after his accident and witness the obstacles that he has to face due to his disability.
