I wanted to reiterate about the title of "The Magnificent Fool" as it seems a bit pretensious. As it would seem its always about me, in relationships or as to why events happen. But then there are people who always think its themselves, why is it always about me, or why is it always about you, when in fact its about us, have you seen your reflection lately? Whats better, a Brilliant Idiot or a Dumb Genius?=The Magnificent Fool. One small step for man...
As a side quest, I've always thought that sooner or later there'd be a movie that would be a kind of "Choose your own adventure". Storys that when it came a time for a decision that would change the events of the story, there would be two to three different choices to choose from, therefore you'd turn the page to one of the choices and the story would continue there. Sometimes when making the right choice, the story would make it all the way through, other choices would leave the story astray or ends abruptly. I envisioned that people in a theatre would have a choice when watching a movie, an overall vote from the audience with a kind of push button poll, that would determine what the outcome of the movie would be. One audience leaving the movie theatre would have experienced a very different movie from the last audience and so on, as the endings would be varied, but ultimately geared towards the greatest ending. After some time, the audience from the movie would realise that there is one particular ending that was the greatest choice and that would be the full movie. Anyway, I thought as an overall collective interactive experience with todays point and click society, that it would be the next stage in entertainment, as this would be able to happen in live theatre. It kind of pulls people together even though they all experience a show as a collective, but drawn on their own conculsions, this makes the audience speak to one another, even after some time after the show. Similar to a concept I wrote for a play, that I wanted the audience to walk away with their own sence of realizations only to realize that personal discovery is the very thing that another person experienced even though it seemed specific to the individual. For instance, a friend of mine told me to say the number five many times, as five, fifty five, etc. for about a minute. She then told me she was going to ask me a question afterwards and that I had to respond immediately, the first thing that pops into my mind. So I said five in its varied formats and after the minute she asked me a question; "Name a vegetable" I thought of the color orange for some reason and thought to say orange, but realized it was a fruit so I came up with the next thing that was a "Carrot" I felt silly because I didnt say that from the start, but still held it as a first impulse. She laughed an showed me a folded piece of paper that had the word carrot written on it, as she knew that for the most part, it would have been my answer. I tried this with many people afterward and most came up with the same reply. Another example is when I was tested to become a lifeguard. Having to pass this test, one of the requirements was to swim a mile within thirty minutes, being that it was a twenty five meter pool, that consisted of about seventy two laps. After a while of swimming, and thinking just about everything besides keeping a steady pace with breathing and pacing, suddenly I started thinking about math. Very simple equations like, one plus one equals two, one plus two equals three, two plus two equals four, etc. a kind of progressive approach after something simple and linear. Afterwards, getting dressed the other swimmers were talking about their experience, keeping up with their times, getting in faster than before, keeping pace, etc. then they started to mention that at one point they thought of math. Its that kind of individual discovery that is experienced as a collective, if only people were able to share and talk about such experiences
