Darcy was distracted as she drove to her office. Had she called Roy “Sweetie” this morning? She thought she remembered saying it but couldn’t be quite certain because she’d still been half-asleep. She’d have to be more careful if she wanted him to keep coming back.
Darcy didn’t dare let Roy know she loved him. If she did, their friends with benefits agreement would probably be over and he might disappear from her life. Oh, it was so hard to keep from saying “I love you,” especially lying next to him in bed.
I have to get him to stay long enough to show him I’m the perfect woman for him, Darcy thought as she parked in the lot behind the car rental agency where she worked. There has to be a way. Maybe if I spice things up even more, he won’t think about needing anyone or anything else!
