Everything about 7-year-old Sun’s life seems ordinary, even the bully that harasses him at his school. But when the sudden appearance of a robed figure and a majestic black horse begin to haunt him from the school mural, his ordinary life becomes extraordinary. He turns to his old neighbor, Ben, for advice on the mysterious communication he receives from the mural. It seems that Ben knows a secret about the mural, but this secret is something that Sun must discover on his own. As Sun is pursued by the bully one day at school, both boys suddenly find themselves captured by the mural, and what ensues is an experience beyond all their imaginations. A strange and shallow sea, endless dunes, a dark and haunting forest, a brilliant white palace, an ominous sultan, and a mysterious witch await them from inside of the mural. Both boys must face their greatest challenge and rise above their fears to save themselves, and to save one another, from being trapped forever in this strange new world.
