earching for the forgotten traditional Korean culture! This series is a place where the stories of Korean children in the past are still alive. The works, plays and customs of Korean children in the past are alive with vivid traces of their laughter and tears. They appear small and insignificant in comparison to the large extravagant culture at the center of all the attention, therefore the village has gathered such looked-over, gap-filling odds and ends our culture. Today, our children go back and forth from school to other varieties of extra-curricular institutes, holding hamburgers in their hands, and they play with computers and televisions. There were days when our children would freely run around through the mountains and fields, eating and playing with the flowers and the grass they would pick up along the way. Their imagination did not cease to grow as they played in the evening under the moonlight by stepping on the shadows that the moon provided for them, and by counting the stars in the sky. Heaven and earth were all in the possession of our children. Unfortunately, the abundant life and nature that our children have been blessed with for thousands of years is now almost disappearing and being forgotten. This series would like to become a stepping stone to connect the children of today with the past by restoring the variety of our lost and niche culture. Also it would be a great chance take a look into the old-fashioned but innocent culture of Korean children in the past. The word 'GookShiGgoRengEe'-is a dialect of the GyeongSangBukDo Region in South Korea-is a Dialectal term for GookSooGgoRee-means the ‘cut ends of the noodle dough’In the first title of the series 'Poo Cake', we can see the widsom of how Korean in the past comforted the children who fell into the old-fashioned toilet bucket. Then she makes rice cakes with rice powder and red bean saying he needs to give the ‘pook cake’ to the toilet ghost to prevent him dying early. So he give the poo cake to the ghost and eat them as well. Moreover he gives away the poo cake to neighbors which will brings luck to them according to his Mom.
