The Anglo Indians were a distinct community in India and I have tried to chronicle the way of life, the houses in which they lived, the cuisine and so on during the first half of the twentieth century.Having said this there was a diversity among the Anglo Indians depending upon the area from which they came, the family background, etc.I have also mentioned the colloquialisms such as "almirah", "chiffonier", "dak bungalow" and many other things which will eventually be lost in the mist of time as they are all now scattered across the globe and have become assimilated into other cultures.
