This volume is the continuation of three individuals' struggle to survive their abduction and return to the safety of their families. It takes place in Corsica, Tuscany and the Republic of Genoa during 1735 through 1736. Their flight to freedom is littered with the blood of those who tried to recapture them for ransom. Quite often they are rescued from certain death by the intercession of an ancient ancestral Spirit Being, who helps the Dulupo family members to devise a scheme to elude their pursuers. The fate of these people is being directed by paranormal forces that have an agenda that is three thousand years old. Each success they experience is just another link in the chain binding their family to a long history of responsibility and servitude to an ancient Cult.
