If you're looking for mystery, romance, mission and adventure, you'll find it in "The Spirit of Things" (TSOT).  This is part 2 which continues from part 1 of the same title. Where part 1 leaves off in the bumper-to-bumper traffic due to the exodus of people, part 2 continues on the same scene. Here is the brief dossier:

The secrets about the Lowrie twins are revealed.  Connected to Operation Pinocchio which original mission was to create a couple that could help control the energies, in a manmade mix of genes and dark matter resulted in earth's imbalance. There destiny is now closely tied up with the balance of the universe. The race to save a dying sun becomes a race to save all mankind and planet Earth.

Young love versus self-sacrifice is just one of the emotional highs of this book. A refugee from San Salvador had known only violence and hate, but he met true goodness in Heraia. The fertility ritual reenacts his previous life in San Salvador, but this last murder was to be the redemption for earth and mankind. This is proof that it's never too late for a person to change. José walks away with a locket and the knowledge that love is in all things.

José has a necklace which proves he once loved to the utmost, the emerald eyed girl most dear to him and his first love.  He shows to everyone that we have to care for the world we live on - a wonderful blue and unique planet. Some facts may conflict with real events. The names of the characters were intentionally altered to protect their identities as some of them may still be living in the same community described here. The events given in detail are actual events that happened within the time frame of the story, such as the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the impending destruction of the earth due to natural and manmade causes of Climate Change.
