Grief has always been difficult no matter the person’s foundation within themselves, their faith, spirituality, family, social class, or any other determining factors that can (and will) influence an individual’s life. The truth is this: we live to die, and we die to live. All of us, at one point or another, has experienced death to some degree or level. While those of us might remember the loss of a childhood pet, or even a grandparent, parent, or child; death is never easy. We all grieve differently, and we all go through each of the processes on our own time and level. No two people are identical with their coping abilities after a loss has occurred, but knowing there is help, and knowing when professional help is needed will assist all within their journey of loss.
Although this book is not meant to be a complete guide to recovery for grief, I have compiled some basic information which I have observed during my years serving as a chaplain. Also, within the contents of these pages and the main purpose of this book, are “grieving rituals” which you may do by yourself, or as a family. Whatever your situation in life, I do wish you all the success, love, and health within this journey you are traveling.
