A Woman's Touch - Ralph Roberts

A Woman's Touch

Ralph Roberts
Farthest Star Science Fiction , English

As I recall, writing this story was not easy at first. After getting the invitation to submit to this anthology, I conceived and wrote a quite nice story but set in third person.
“No,” Mike said, “It needs to be from the woman’s viewpoint.”

“Well,” I asked, “how ‘bout one from an alien’s viewpoint?”

“Closer,” he said, “extrapolate from there.”

Humor aside, I gave it serious thought, determined there is something women do better than men besides the obvious of childbirth. And “A Woman’s Touch” was written — in which, caught between two massive alien fleets, only a woman’s touch has any chance of survival.
