Publius Cornelius Tacitus (56 -117 A.D.) was a Roman senator and also one of Rome’s greatest historians. Tacitus’ best known works are The Annals and The Histories which examined the rule of the emperors Tiberius, Claudius, Nero and others. Tacitus’ writing is well known for its insights into the psychology of the politics of his day.
