Her whole body practically convulsed, shaking as something slid unseen past her hip. Frozen in terror, she could only look from the corner of her eye - catching sight of the shadow snaking around her stomach.
It tensed powerfully around her, whatever it was wrapping around her like a rope made of sheer muscle, aching and flexing intimidatingly around her slim waist. She went to scream, feeling instead the air pushed out of her as the alien appendage squeezed even tighter.
“Why did you summon me?” asked the voice. Amy felt dizzy and wasn’t sure if it was suddenly speaking English, or whether the words now somehow simply made sense. Her skin prickled as she felt the heat growing steadily now behind her.
“I… I didn’t,” she stammered.
The appendage gripped tighter around her waist as a second slithered past her ankle. The walls seemed to expand and pulse as she heard the unseen creature’s powerful lungs echo and fill the room. Sweat began to bead across her skin, shivering in frozen panic.
There was no reply, only the continued sound of breathing.
As it slowly worked and wrapped its way threateningly around her ankle, she instinctively flashed her eyes downward almost involuntarily. Her eyes widened and her lips parted. Suddenly, she screamed.
Climbing further up her leg was a darkened, throbbing tentacle. The other still ached around her waist as a third and then a fourth flashed in the corner of her eyes. Each was a thick, blackened length of muscle that snaked through the air, winding through the shadows.
She gasped breathlessly as each tightened around her body as another worked its way up her back, sliding up and around her frail neck. She bit her lip, quivering a little in the darkened bathroom....
