As people get on in years, couples often assume roles that define how they relate to the world (both tangible and intangible). In this case, an older man struggling with distractibility and forgetfulness loses his hearing aid and his wife optimistic and faith driven embarks on a quest to find it.
The odds seem impossible. It was lost in a hotel and thrown out with the garbage. The man wanted to give up and just say there is no way it can be found. His wife however, optimistic, determined and willing to call on the Lord for help, presses forward.
There is really nothing complicated about this story. It just shows how faith and works combine to enlarge the role of the wife and get the husband to rethink how he copes with the struggles that many people experience as they grow older.
