Initiate appropriate trials of APs to maximize response in patients with psychosis.
Compare and contrast efficacy and side effects associated with first- and second-generation APs.
Reduce negative symptoms of schizophrenia through the use of psychosocial therapies.
Avoid extrapyramidal symptoms and tardive dyskinesia in patients on APs.
Identify trends in approved and unapproved uses of APs in patients <18 yr of age.
