Volume 8. After her husband Blake had been asleep in a stasis chamber for a few years, Olivia still traveled, mostly alone. She explored and catalogued space phenomena as she tried hard to keep busy. She felt that though her husband was away from her, probably for the rest of her life, that she should not try to find another love. And so, out of choice, she wandered out in space, alone. Alone except for her immortal inlaws, who drop by for visits now and then. On one such visit, Olivia is given a mission of great importance. She is tasked with entering an unimaginably old outpost and repairing an alien computer system that has gone insane. Not only does she face deadly predatory creatures and dangerous damaged areas of the outpost, but she must also face an enemy who knows her better than even she knows herself. When faced with a beast that would kill her for sport, she works hard to prove that she still has some spunk left in her. But even if she succeeds, will this mission cost her vary life?
