"Here, I'll take that one, and you can drop Cody's and Taylor's here," Shane said, as he took his own from Brad's hands.
"What do you mean leave them here? Where is mine going?"
"You and I are taking that single room over there, and we'll get a fire going in that fireplace and get it ready for bunking down, so come on grab your sleeping bag and move it."
"Hey, who made you the boss?"
"I did, and you got a problem with that, sonny" Shane asked in a very quiet menacing voice. He stared hard into Brad's eyes, until Brad shifted his feet a few times and dropped his eyes to the floor.
"Fine, no reason to get all bossy though."
He grabbed his bag and packs and headed for the single room, glancing back at Cody and Taylor and giving them a rude stare. He wasn't sure what was up, but he wasn't going to mess around with this Shane, besides Shane outweighed him by a few pounds, and he looked like he was solid muscle too. He did like the way his chest bulged out in that shirt, but he still didn't like what was going on. He would enjoy making Cody sweat this one.
Shane pushed Brad along with his sleeping bag roll and as they entered the smaller room, he turned to wink at Cody and Taylor. "We'll grab some wood and get the fire going in here, and while we do that, why don't you two get out of those wet clothes and get dried off and put some dry things on."
Taylor just looked at Cody, smiled and shook his head. He didn't think that Shane would be so bold about it, and he knew he had taken a chance in talking to him about wanting to be alone, but damn it, he ached for Cody and he knew Cody was in just as bad a shape.
Cody was grinning, watching the way Brad was being bossed around by Shane. He wondered if Shane was actually going to do more than just sleep in that room with Brad. Now that would be interesting, and that just might be an answer for him and Taylor, too. He looked over to see a warm glow around Taylor and knew that tonight was going to be a very interesting one.
Cody laid out the two sleeping bags by the fireplace, and he rummaged around in his bag until he found a couple of towels, which he also set down by the sleeping bags.
