For years eighteen year old Chicago born Mage Princess, Zatine Tyutyusin has known she is more than just the ninth child of the fallen Emperor and Empress; who were determined to convert the Nomen of Earth into the Mage mind frame. That is until their deadliest enemy, the Siren, ended their reign.
Reared by her older siblings, Zatine is forced to squash her inherit gift and destroy any Siren that enters her sight, even though their music and their energy call to her like home.
On the day Zatine converts the last Siren to a Mage, she is teleported to the Universe Stasis, where she encounters six supposedly extinct Nomens known as the Saphetti. Australian Indian Leila, Londoner Corvian, Argentinean Tahmel, South African Tette, Japanese Akira, and Native Mohawk Canadian Etil are musicians who wish to take their world back from the stronghold of the Mage. Led by the all-knowing Leila, they force Zatine to learn the truth about her heritage and the people she calls family.
With music and Leila on the heart, and family ties on the mind, Zatine must choose between the life of a Mage or the life of a Siren.
