The Lady Is For Burning is a short play set in the Middle Ages by the magnificent playwright Doug Moody.
We join an all-powerful coven who meet in a subterranean mausoleum beneath Doge’s Palace in Venice. This bloodthirsty group of despots deal out their grisly form of justice on the inhabitants of their kingdom without the requirement of a fair trial or any kind of evidence.
Individuals are torched, hanged, crucified and despatched in all manner of creative ways in order to prevent the peasants revolting. We learn that things have not changed much in the years that have passed.
