The goal of this program is to improve the management of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) and acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
Reduce the risk for stroke or embolism in patients in AF through the use of appropriate antithrombotic therapy.
Administer recommended medications for achieving optimal rate control in patients with AF.
Identify patients who may be good candidates for AF ablation.
Perform an accurate bedside assessment of volume status and perfusion in a patient with ADHF.
Develop an effective ADHF treatment plan based on that assessment.
