Purpose: Audio-Digest Foundation CME/CE activities are designed to provide its learners – physicians and other healthcare professionals – with continuing education that will help identify clinical problems in their practice settings, provide content to help to solve those problems, and increase their application of knowledge to practice.

The goals of this program are to improve the management and prevention of pressure sores and the treatment of sepsis. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1: Prevent the development of pressure sores through the use of good bed making and hands-on bedside nursing.
2: Effectively treat stage I to IV pressure ulcers.
3: Administer the appropriate antibiotics for the organisms likely to cause sepsis.
4: Utilize stress-dose steroids to manage vasopressor-dependent septic shock.
5: Consider the use of activated protein C for the treatment of selected patients with severe sepsis.
