Dana, a young middle-class woman auditions for a reality TV show. In many ways Dana is the poster child of the person who must be entertained all the time because she's unable to distinguish illusion from reality
Dana wants to be seen by millions of people and she needs exposure and a platform to stage her newly created ‘self’ that people will want to see. She feels that she's not real unless she's cast on the reality TV show “ReallyMe.”
During the interview with the casting director, Dana descends further into a world where people are ‘hired’ to play themselves. When Dana discovers that the ‘real’ world no longer exists, she has no place to go but deeper into mental illness.
