Teacup Bagua Zhang

Bagua Zhang, also known as bagu zhang, is known as one of the three sisters of internal martial arts. (The other two being Tai Chi Chuan and Hsing I).

Founded by Dong Hai Chuan, it is an art shrouded in secrecy, and it is usually very difficult to find a qualified teacher.

In this book, Teacup Bagua Zhang, the author reveals a powerful training method which utilizes the ‘Walking the Circle’ exercise.

Walking the Circle is a sometimes intricate process of moving meditation which focuses the awareness and fills the body with chi power.

Baguazhang circle walking builds amazingly strong legs and unique chi power. Utilizing this method one can maneuver between even a crowd of opponents. Spinning, twisting, writhing and rippling, the Bagua Zhang master is near impossible to hold, and his unique chi energy spins off his body like a wheel, making this martial art one of the most potent and powerful in history.

This exercise in particular, the series of ‘baguazhang forms’ known as Teacup Bagua Zhang, organizes the production of chi power, and causes it to manifest faster than in any other martial art.

Of note are the clear and coherent explanations of how chi actually works in the body, and how to unify the body to that it truly functions ‘as one unit.’

This book is designed to introduce beginners to a new martial art, and to make logical some the actual function of chi production. It is recommended that the reader purchase the other books written by the author in this vein, specifically including Butterfly Bagua Zhang.

The author began his studies of martial arts in 1967, became a writer for the magazines in 1981, and is the most prolific writer of martial arts in history. He has written over two million words on the martial arts.

The material of Teacup Bagua Zhang presented in this volume is crucial to the understanding of that great martial art.
