Eddie Jenkins is driving back from London in atrocious weather when he comes across a young woman hitchiking. She is in obvious distress and he gives her a lift down to Cornwall and puts her up in his cottage overnight.
The next morning the cause of her distress is revealed and he decides to help her in a search for the mysterious Lilacine Amazon and a package which it hides. He doesn't know what he is letting himself in for. There are a Middle Eastern Group and some Irish terrorists also searching for it along with British Intelligence and they also cross swords with the police.
The search takes them to Tenerife where everything goes wrong and the body count begins to mount. It is only there that they discover what everyone is searching for. It is difficult to see whose side Eddie is actually on and it is only when he returnns to England and the finale gets near that all is revealed. All the groups come together in a final confrontation and it is only then that we see who Eddie is working for and who survives.
