I was running well in the race, one final push and I would realise my personal best target for the 10k race that I had tried for years to accomplish. One more kilometre to go and I got ready to up the pace that little bit more to finish strongly. I pushed to go up a gear but nothing happened, what was wrong.....

I have written this short and concise book to let people have some insight into how I have been involved in running over significant periods of my life. My experiences in running fall into two distinct phases. The first phase was when I was in my mid 30's and lasted about 10 years. After a considerable break from running I recommenced running in what I call the second phase. I was in my early 50's and this started in 2003 and is still going on. These experiences are shared in the hope that it will inspire many more people to get involved in this tremendous activity of running.
