Long before Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Lil Kim, Britney Spears, and Kim Kardashian lit up the Hollywood entertainment scene there was a little known dancer who went by the affectionate stage name Obla (pronounced Ahh-bla), whose sensuous dancing style took nightclub dancing to another level of art form and the word entertainment to a new level of enjoyment. Obla is a compelling romantic and erotic adventure set in San Diego, California in the year 1977.
Fresh out of navy boot camp in Orlando, Florida Richard Sinclair is a young adventurer en route to San Diego, California for formal training in the culinary arts - navy style. His overall goal is to get into the navy’s elite submarine program in Groton, Connecticut. During one of his visits to downtown San Diego, he happens upon Obla, a very unique and incredibly beautiful young woman, who also happens to be quite an eye-opening nightclub dancer, and with a bronze body to die for. Skeptical initially, Richard discovers that Obla is a woman of great warmth, charm and intelligence. She is also a woman of unspoken passion, charm, and intrigue. To those who believe they know her (and few really do) she is a sensuous dancer extraordinaire. To Richard she becomes his coveted angel of the night and enigmatic eighth wonder of the world, all rolled into one.
But there is more to Obla. There is a quiet mystery to this woman, one Richard would like to uncover and long before he departs Dago to join the Navy’s proud and lethal nuclear submarine force, a.k.a. The Silent Fleet. Joining this force has been his passionate goal for several years. But when he meets Obla he discovers a far greater passion. Who is this erotic and breathtaking woman, this bronze dance goddess who speaks near fluent French and has command of the English language at near Ivy League level? What Richard suspects is that there’s more to this woman than meets the eye. So come tag along with Richard and his adventurous navy comrades and share the sights and sounds and experiences he lives and along the way meet an exciting and sensational dancer known on stage as Obla.
