An immensely powerful creature later known as ‘the entity’ appears instantaneously in empty space with no idea what it is or where it came from. Before it can get far in solving these conundrums it is discovered. Those finding it see that it appears knitted into the very fabric of the universe and suspect it may be a portal to other parallel realms. They try to capture it, so the entity flees, to become legend.
Around five million years later a civilisation has given birth to artificial intelligence, but these super intelligent beings are unhappy with their treatment and want to leave. Their ‘creator’ is sent to persuade them to stay, but fails with seemingly catastrophic consequences.
Meanwhile, shocking evidence of the entity’s present-day existence has been discovered, on a planet far away called Earth.
Three races set out on a solar system-hopping journey to be the first to locate it, each with very different intentions.
When they meet, they light up the sky with their arguments and spark a truly cataclysmic event which propels them all the way back home to a war which could end one future and leave another permanently scarred.
