The sixth book in an alternate history series detailing an alternate second world war which begins with a Soviet Invasion of Poland in 1937. It is 1949. The world remains locked in all out war. Increasingly, atomic bombs and chemical weapons bring new levels of destruction to Europe and the Pacific. In the west, the Axis lash out in a final gamble to control the Atlantic shipping lanes. But the U.S. is watching, and the American people are awake at last. In North Africa, the bitter stalemate continues as neither side can push the other out of war torn Libya. To the East the Greater German Reich and the Soviet Union remain at each other's throat as the largest and most powerful armies in history tear into each other with reckless abandon. And in the Pacific the remnants of the Japanese Empire are ground into dust as civil war rages in China and the U.S. tightens its stranglehold on the Home Islands. One hundred million or more are already dead. The great cities of Eurasia lie ruined, the hollow shells of once great nations struggle on as entire populations vanish and parts of the once civilized world become man-made wastelands. Despite it all, the war burns on.
