This charming little story for 2 to 7 (67?) year olds introduces five of the Scrumblies who live and play happily in their secret valley. The author (Mike) has left the appearance of the characters to the imagination of each child who hears the story but there are some clues. The words 'furry' and 'paw' suggest teddy bear types of creatures. Mike succeeds in avoiding the mind-numbing repetition which can send parents up the wall when they're reading to their children (the 'real princess' in The Princess and the Pea for example) and in this first story the Scrumblies all fall asleep at the end which makes it a great bedtime story!
