In this 11-page short story, Arden experiences a “stranger-quickie”, which helps harden her heart to the loss of Frank but also allows her to regain perspective on the best way to handle her relationship with the Professor. She decides that sex with the older, weak-hearted man is no longer a secret desire that she holds. His lack of dominance in a sexual involvement has totally turned her off from him and has rather disgusted her towards him. Instead, Arden orchestrates an entire plan of seduction and deceit. How dare he think that he is going to end this relationship when he says so? She is not done with him yet.
