History. This book is fiction based on facts. I write it as if I am a mountain, watching out over the valley to see what is going on. Names have been changed, but the events really happened. It is a story about homesteading days and the settling of this area of New Mexico, starting before New Mexico was a state. It's a story about the people who came and had to leave, or starve. About people who managed to survive and their descendants who are here today. It's about happy times and sad times. It is about the Rise and Fall of the Dry-Land Pinto Bean.
