Liam O’Bannon came to America as a young child as an orphaned Irish immigrant who grew up to build for his family a large and successful cattle ranch in New Mexico in the late eighteen-hundreds. His youngest son, Patrick is a naïve and immature adolescent who is engaged to Lila Albright, a woman of questionable morals. The Albright’s, their next-door neighbors are in danger of losing their ranch to foreclosure, due to financial mismanagement.

To disgrace the Albright family, Liam arranges to have the wedding take place at the local saloon to vindicate a horrific scandal that Lila brought upon the family. And Mara, Lila’s embittered sister takes an active part in Liam’s diabolical plot.

If you like to read westerns with a surrealistic twist to them you’ll like Women at the Well.
