For Sheriff Bo Austin it is a moment of sexual congress that starts it all.
The act may have been a feverish encounter of casual passion but even whilst he is adulterously engaged with Cally Gantz, circumstances are about to change in the sleepy farming community of Partner Springs.
Three men further down the line commit bloody murder, an act that inevitably sets off a chain reaction reaching back to the small township of immigrant German farmers.
Even as the killers ride into Partner Springs, an assassin of the first order, a man efficiently capable with a whole range of lethal weapons, is hired to carry out a brother’s desire for vengeful justice.
