These pages are about my grandson, Robert Landon Martin, who did a tour of South Korea while stationed in the US Air Force. His Mom, Mawmaw, Mamaw, his Aunt Sheila and myself (his Papaw) were all in attendance at Lovell Field in Chattanooga, Tennessee to see him off on April 9, 1996.Everyone was saying their good-byes and making their predictions of the changes Landon would see one year later in his return home.Being his Papaw, I felt I had to put my two cents worth in by saying “We’re seeing a boy leave here today but we will see a man return.”Everyone, of course, told Landon to write, he assured us he would. But he didn’t say how often, how much or to whom.So after a few weeks of receiving no mail from him I decided I would write a letter to me, from him, for him…(see pages I-II) All he had to do was to sign and return to me. I guess he was too busy as I never received it back.Everyone here who read the letter thought it was “Unique”. Since I didn’t get an answer I decided to keep writing to me, from him, for him.So as you read remember it’s me, writing me, what Landon might be doing…Just for fun…Enjoy.
