I never intended to write a book about how I lost weight. But then again, I never intended to get fat either. It just sort of happened. It was like a long, gradual process of losing myself to this big hefty woman in the mirror, looking svelte in her size 22 jeans. The real me was still in there somewhere, but she was buried beneath a mountain of Ben and Jerry's and years of emotional eating.
