In this third book of the Jack Diamond trilogy, Jack finds himself struggling to keep his wife alive in the face of two separate attempts to kill her. He then moves briefly to Paris, following which the real action takes place in Moscow.
The tempo increases exponentially as Jack, in the face of huge adversity, retains his will to live and kill, all of which leads to a pulse-racing crescendo. There are few winners but many losers in this carefully crafted espionage novel that brings its two predecessors to a sort of denouement. A must read of a book that is crying out for a film script.
The reader will get an interesting insight into the workings and politics of MI6, the headquarters of which is located in Vauxhall Cross in London.
The story is rich in content and gently guides the reader through a complicated but rewarding journey that ultimately ends with no end.
