Fall of Roku San opens during the battle for a vital agrarian planet in the human Outer Colonies. A young male conscript is plucked from his home planet at the age of seventeen, and suffering from amnesia and psychic sickness, he experiences battle and chaos across the collapsing human civilization, a military dictatorship known as the Terran Federation.
He is deployed, at first in large formations, wherever the front looks likely to collapse. Having proved his resolve, he makes important allies and finds himself appointed to command the defense of OM-3, a planet deep inside the Arachnid Quarantine Zone.
