Have you ever had that feeling when you see and hear someone play the guitar that you wished you could learn to play it just as well? That’s a very good indication that you at least have the passion for guitar playing.
Learning how to play the guitar requires a great deal of passion as much as talent. Most musicians will tell you that you can have the talent to play the guitar but it won’t amount to anything remarkable if you don’t have the passion to follow it through. They will also tell you that you can learn the skills but you can’t learn the passion. For the most talented and most skillful guitar players, passion drives perfection. It is only when you truly want to perfect your craft that you can become outstandingly good at it.
You see, it is passion, that very strong feeling, that very intense love, to learn how to play the guitar that will drive you to learn it successfully and turn you from mere amateur into a skillful guitar player. Why is passion so important? For the simple reason that it is the very element that will fuel your persistence and dedication to practice and become skilled at your craft.
In every sport, in every art, and in every hobby, practice makes perfect. Learning the guitar is a process that requires repeated practice. You will need to go through tabs and cords, notes and songs, over and over again, daily if need be, for a long period of time, in order to become better at it. That is the most basic guitar lesson of all.
