Captain Ror:
Four weeks inside the caves of Mt. Heil but not one visitor or Pulse Rider rescued. I’ve grown tired not from the pressure of unpredictable attacks from Winged Beasts or spiders with poisonous venom but from the constant temptations of the woman at my side. Ms. Tiffany’s presence threatens my composure and willpower to not break my prophecy. The season of the icicle storms is approaching so I cannot leave the mountain unless I want to get impaled by gigantic icicles from the sky. Can I withstand her or do I succumb to her charms and break my resolve? A single question continues to plague me: is she worthy enough to break my prophecy?

After an attack I become separated from Tiffany. While searching for her I end up rescuing another visitor woman, one of the most pathetic looking visitors I’ve ever seen. While she looks weak and helpless she carries a highly intelligent and witty personality, if not utterly annoying and condescending. I loathe her attitude but when I heard the way she made it into the mountain and why she arrived there I can’t leave her alone to find her own way home. I’m compelled to help her. But each time I look at her I’m haunted. She has the same vivid green eyes.

Sarah Gold:
I’ve been locked up like a pampered prisoner in the Rested tribe settlement called White Rock for several weeks now. Prince Gallant befriended me and after weeks of work we’ve solved a tiny piece to tracking these portals. When the time comes to leave I won’t turn back. That’s what I’ve been telling myself. Even with that in my heart I get an icy chill each time Gallant mentions bringing me to their Seer who lives in Mt. Heil. I think he wants me to stay here indefinitely and if this woman gives me a prophecy that may be my fate. Trapped inside White Rock for all eternity doesn’t sound like much of a vacation. I’d have chosen Mexico. On the other hand, if I do manage to escape the settlement I might just end up in the cannibals’ lair once again. I doubt they’d give me a chance to escape this time. Become famous and live trapped for the rest of my life or run and quite possibly die. There are days I wish I’d never gotten out of bed.

Detective Ron Smith:
Day after day I learn the culture of the Black Hair tribe, the family of the corpse I found back on Earth. Usually when I engross myself into the lives of the victims I soon figure out how and why they were killed. The “how” part was self-explanatory; if you can’t figure out that the big hole in the back of a guy’s head killed him then get out of law enforcement. But the “why” still is a mystery. This guy may have been born into the Black Hair tribe but he strayed a lot; not to mention he might be the father of a certain boy back on Earth who paints oil canvas of Whisehitel’s history. Is that why he was in the mountains when he died? Was he trying to find his lost son? But who killed him? The king of the Black Hair stated there are intruders in the caves called Colleen Green and they might have killed him, but he doesn’t care to investigate it further. What is he hiding? Guess I’ll just have to find out for myself.
