The Mysterious Island is a mythological story. Azurean a Mermaid finds herself lost on the Mysterious Island. She has been turned into a human being by Jupiter, the God of Heaven, and Neptune God of the Sea, in order to teach her a lesson for wishing to become human, and to see if she can resist the temptations that human beings feel. If she succeeds she will once more become a Mermaid and she will be free to return to Atlantis deep beneath the Ocean and be reunited with her brother, a Merman, and the rest of her family. If she fails, she will remain a human being. She has lessons to learn. Azurean meets with the Nine Muses of the Liberal Arts on the island who teach her the error of her ways but does she heed their advice or remain greedy as a human being?
